Dear Ms. Thorpe: I was born and I am originally from Lindenhurst, N.Y.. I had left in 1993 and have not been back. I now reside in Johnson City, TN and have been here for 9 years. I had accidentally ran across your website one day on my lunch hour in work. I do miss Long Island, and I have very much enjoyed your photographs as I have only memories of what I recall. Hi Alida, I truly enjoyed your photos of Long Island, especially the ones of the south shore and Bayport. You really captured what Long Island has always been about. I was on the phone with my firends from Long Island this weekend and we were talking about the old days. I lived on Long Island until 1972 and my father fished for soft shell crabs when I was a child. I grew up by the ocean and loved it. When I married I moved to Michigan. Your pictures remind me of my chilhood. Thank you for the warm feeling I got looking at your pictures.

You have some fantastic shots , will certenly be looking at you site again when i get home, im away in torquay at the mo for the weekend. Also like your photos of highway one brings back memorys of when i was over in the US , I drove all the way up from esndorna / tijuna to san franciso on that road . unforgetable , unfortunaly i was arrested and deported soon after.
