I found it very interesting to see the progress from back yard bears with an XT to really suberb bird photos with a big lens and a big camera. Great stuff Axel and thanks for sharing. Two other items I noticed were most of the photos were taken early to mid morning, and I did not see any reference to a flash being used. It was very educational and thanks again Axel.

I love your bird photos! They are fantastique. What equipment are you using? What camera? Digiscoping? Telephoto? It would be nice if you could include the EXIF data on your photos.

Axel, these photos are great. I'm jealous of your backyard with bears; it makes me miss my grad school days of living in central PA (for now I'm stuck in urban Somerville). Great macros, great birds, mammals, etc. And thanks for your kind words on my photos as well. If you want alcids, a trip to Machias Seal Island won't disappoint. The puffins and razorbills were often too close for my 400 mm lens.

Axel, I do believe you have some of the best wildlife photos on Pbase. I am amazed at your small bird photos! I keep seeing your lens is 420 mm, are you using a 300 with a 1.4 TC for these? Keep up the great work, I will be in your gallery trying to learn.

hi axel great bird photos pin sharp i wanted to know what lens you use iv noticed they are taken at 420 mm so are you using a 300 mm lens and 1x4 converter and if so wich 300 is it the 300 4.0 or the 2.8 any info would be of great help to me as im just starting out to take bird photos too.
