Hello Mary,
We are semi-related by marriage. My uncle Hiram Runnels married Maud Stirk and she brought Pearl with her to live on our reservation in Washington State. (Colville ) I found you over at Find-a-Grave while looking for James Stirk. I remembered he was buried at the head of Red Cloud's grave. Auntie Maud was one of my favourite "Aunties. I always thought she was my "blood" and Uncle Hiram had married into our bloodline, because our women treated her like a sister. It was unusual for the woman to come to the man's rez. Generally the man would go to live with his bride's people because the women of one tribe would be mean to the "outsider" of another tribe, but our aunties loved her dearly as did I.

Cooler than Anthony Bourdain--this then is the world of the sybarite--although I think I prefer your panoramic, black and white work shot from the top of a speeding double-decker--these are gorgeous pictures--a Goblins Market of visual delights--colors you can cut with a fork--encore, encore--great pix and great camera--further.

Love your pictures, and your writings on the sites in Cincinnati, Ohio (churches, Spring Grove, etc.) were wonderful! Thank you for all this!

Great photos and a wonderful eye. The night shots are stunning. And, I love your focus on "winter gear". Will there be more? I hope you were there more than just two days.
