I enjoyed your picture of the bricks with the words "WILD ASS MINING CO." Unless you know something otherwise, I would suspect those words may have been painted on those bricks back in the 1950's or '60's by a group of 5 men from California calling themselves the Wild Ass Mining Co. or WAMCO. They traveled in the northern part of Nevada. They have all passed on now, but I, one of the sons of the originals, and a group of 4 others have formed WAMCO II, and we travel, annually to Jarbidge, NV.

Paula, I enjoyed your "Finding Peace" gallery and after reading your tribulation I thought to remind myself that there is a hidden meaning behind all events as they serve our own evolution. The photographs through out your galleries give clue to a very kind and happy person. Places like Lamoille Canyon and the Big Hole valley will always be safe havens from a world full of uncertainty. You're in the right place and have a wonderful talent. I enjoy your photos very much.

Paula, your work is so beautiful, and I cant tell you how I have enjoyed it so much. My family roots go back to Lamoille and Elko, I remember all the stories from my gramma who spent alot of her youth there, and at this holiday time I miss the family who is no more. These photos of the elko/lamoille NV area have filled my heart with a smile in remembering the beauty up there, and have brought my grammas stories back to life. thank you so very kindly. she loved the Lamoille church. thank you! patti williams, Klamath Falls, Oregon **McBride was our family who helped start NV power Co, and had 1st log flume at their Lamoille Ranch. They also had a mansion in Elko,-I think their pictures are in the elko museum. I havent been to elko in years physically-only in spirit.

Hi Paula, Your photos are awesome! I lived in Spring Creek from 1995-1999, now in Wyoming. I worked for Lynn Draper at Breitenstein House for a few months until she closed it. It's nice to see the real Nevada that people don't know about. What part of Colorado are you from? The pics of Utah look like my husband's old stomping grounds, Green River, Moab, etc. Also, it was neat to see Bodie, that is one of the coolest places in the country! Keep up the awesome work!

Hi Paula! I wish I had stumbled onto your sight earlier (before Montana) as I live in Truckee California and have been contimplating a photo shoot in Lamoille canyon because a friend of a friend of mine is a guide up there.... but I wasn't sure it would be worth the trip and the money for a guide. Ha! you sure made up my mind for me it's gorgeous! I'm just an amateur but your photography is so inspiring I think I'll start trying harder! My husband is a custom home builder here in Tahoe and we were both admiring your new home......actually I do all the photography for our brochures and website but I prefer landscape photography... architecture is very difficult for me. I have a question for you.....I shoot with a Nikon D200, D2X and D300. I noticed you also shoot with the D2x and D300 so I was wondering what your favorite lenses are for these cameras? I hope you will keep adding pictures I enjoy them so much....I too discovered them on Wunderground. I have a gallery at Smugmug also but haven't had time to put too much up. If you go to Smugmug type in 2peas my girlfriend and I share the gallery but so far she hasn't put anything up. She lives in San Diego and she has been into Photography way longer than I have. We go on photography roadtrips all the time it's so much fun to find other people who share your interest in Photography! By the way, I visit a friend in Darby Montana once in awhile are you anywhere close to Darby? It would be fun to meet you in person you are a treasure!!!! All the best to you! Linda

Dear Paula, After living in las vegas for 35 years my daughter and I jaunted to Elko to buy land went thru Lamoille valley and were actually lost in there, finally a worker came along and told us how to get out. It was quite funny later and we realized everything you have talked about is true it is gourgeousin there. Came upon your pictures and couldn't get enough, I feel kindred to you.Hope your as happy in Montana and Iwill always remember lost in Lamoille.

dear paula, tag your it! what's new girl? are you moved and settled yet. Has the house sold? there is a fire 6 miles north of me in Midpines Ca. the skies are dark and ash is falling all over the ranch. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't burn this way.hope you are well and things are good. I'm still trying to educate myself on this new Canon Rebel XTi. Did you know that the majority of the approvers choice photos on Wunderground have been taken with a canon of some type. Good morning Ms P mmmm my old photography teacher use to say a GOOD photo tells a story to the viewer a GREAT photo is poetry to the viewer's eye some folks see a photo and snap it thats all. some write captivating verse with a camera lens like Byron with a glass lens ----like you do continue what you are doing --- let the light and shadow be your guide
