Message from Rachel Pennington
I've been taking photos since I was 8 when my parents bought me my first camera for Christmas: a Kodak 110. I've pretty much had a camera in my hand ever since. You'd think I'd be better by now, wouldn't you? :)
I use a Canon 7D, and a Canon 30D. I also ALWAYS carry the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 with me. It's just about my favorite camera. :)
I'm 41 and have been happily married for almost 25 years to my high school sweetheart. We have two children, Brooke, 24, and Cain, 21.
I am crazy about photography. I love shooting nature--wildlife and landscapes. My favorite subjects are butterflies and insects. I also love macro photography.
For editing I use Photoshop CS4, & Picasa, which is a terrific free program from Google (www.picasa.com). I only do basic editing; I don't do anything that dramatically changes my photos. I like them to be "as shot." There's nothing wrong with people using editing software to make their photographs pieces of art by doing major editing, but that's just not for me. :)
I love Jesus, Christmas, the colors green & orange, fall (autumn), the ocean, and being in the woods. My other hobbies include hiking, camping, and Geocaching.
I love the Lord and thank him daily for the blessings that I receive. :)
